For over three decades, Lions clubs around the globe have been sponsoring a very special art contest in schools and youth groups. Creating peace posters gives children everywhere the chance to express their visions of peace and inspire the world through art and creativity. Here in DeWitt, your Noon Lions sponsor the annual Peace Poster competition for students at St Joseph and Central DeWitt Intermediate Schools. At each school, first and second place posters win a cash prize from the Noon Lions and have their artwork submitted for possible national recognition.
St Joseph School Peace Poster winners Jack Arndt 1st Place and Van King 2nd Place with DeWitt Noon Lions Peace Poster Chairperson Don Thiltgen and President Monica Murphy. Peace Poster winners for Central DeWitt Intermediate School will be announced at the Awards Ceremony at the end of the school year.
